Moslem Khezri (b. 1984, Iran) is a contemporary figurative painter whose work explores the complex relationship between the human body, memory, and social space. He received his M.A. in Painting from Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran and has established an international presence through exhibitions across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and the United States.
Khezri has exhibited extensively in both solo and group exhibitions. His work has been presented by SARAI Gallery at major international art fairs and exhibitions in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Chicago, Seoul, Busan, Paris, and at The Armory Show in New York, where SARAI Gallery received the Presents Booth Prize in 2021. His paintings are held in prominent public and private collections, including the Dubai Collection and the Abu Dhabi Collection.
Drawing from his upbringing in southern Iran, Khezri creates evocative figurative paintings that investigate the emotional and psychological dimensions of everyday life. Through nuanced compositions and masterful use of natural light, he transforms familiar settings into contemplative spaces that reveal subtle tensions, memories, and unspoken narratives.
His acclaimed series We Keep Reviewing examines the social dynamics and hidden complexities of the Iranian all-boys school environment, while In Between reflects on the emotional and cultural realities of immigration and belonging. Addressing the difficult choice between leaving one's homeland and remaining, the series speaks to a generation whose identities have been shaped by displacement, uncertainty, and resilience. Through these deeply personal yet universally resonant works, Khezri invites viewers to consider themes of identity, memory, and the quiet forces that shape individual and collective experience.
